Mesdames Lynch of Belton and King of New Santa Fe attended the funeral of their brother and uncle, W. P. Phillips, here last Friday.

W. P. Phillips died at his home in this vicinity, of pneumonia fever, on Wednesday evening, March 23, aged 65 years. Mr. Phillips was an old resident of this community, having spent about half his life here. He was a member of the M. E. church (South) of Belleview, but owing to the sickness of the pastor the funeral was preached by Rev. Warner of the M. E. church at Linwood, after which the remains were laid to rest in the cemetery of that place. He leaves a wife, two sons and three daughters, besides a host of friends, to mourn their loss.
