Mrs. Baldwin Dead

After an illness of less than a week, the spirit of Mrs. Florence Baldwin, wife of William Baldwin, passed to its God at the family home in the north part of this city, Saturday night, June 2. Mrs. Baldwin was stricken with blood poison the preceeding Monday afternoon, and, althoug [sic] everything possible was done to allay the disease, she grew worse and passed away as stated. Deceased leaves a husband, three children and numerous relatives to mourn her death.
Florence Anna Bell was born in Lincoln, Texas county, Mo., March 29, 1880, and was married to William Baldwin in Lebanon, Laclede county, Mo., August 28, 1897. At an early age she united with the M.E. church at Lebanon, Mo., afterward taking her letter to the Congregational church of that city. Last winter she united with [the] M.E. church of Edgerton, by letter.

The funeral services were held from the M.E. church Monday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev. B.F. Dice, assisted by Rev. J.B. Ford of Topeka. Many beautiful floral tributes were placed upon the casket by sympathizing friends. After the services at the church the remains were placed in [the] narrow, silent home of the dead in Rock Creek cemetery.

The bereaved husband and relatives request the Journal to express their gratitude to the neighbors and friends for the kind deeds done for them in their hour of sorrow and affliction.
